Having found myself increasingly drawn to space planning and with a particular interest in historic buildings, I would devour books on architecture and was fascinated with how different styles developed throughout Europe. Subsequently I undertook a degree in Architecture at Kingston University, continuing my studies today with a Masters in Historical and Conservation Architecture.
My personal style is mostly devoid of fleeting trends and fashions, and I don’t dare to be different just to be different. Listed buildings require sympathetic restoration but it is important to be able to flex in whatever direction will result in the most successful outcome. I aim for a timeless approach, mixing old with new, layering textures and allowing the properties original charm and character to sing whilst balancing the historic layout with the needs of contemporary living. Embracing the history and stories that come with an old property is an important part of the process, as is the quality of light, perspective and the orientation of each piece used. Combined with the wonderful fabrics, textures and product on offer today it is possible to create a unique home for each client to enjoy for many years.
